You don’t need a french credit card, any visa or mastercard should work. I am mexican and my Travel Pass mastercard credit card issued by banamex worked perfectly in the Vélib stations

Love this! Thanks! It would be great to maybe get some recommendations on where to shop for lingerie in Paris. I can’t think of a better souvenir and We’ll be there in September for our anniversary. Would love to take the husband shopping for French lingerie

Hello, just to comment that that the Hotel St Jacques in the movie Charade is not the one in rue Ecole, the hotel in the movie is located at 24 rue Censier but it is not a hotel anymore (or maybe never was). The Metro St Jacques on the movie was also recreated in that street, just a few meters from the hotel.
