If you are in Paris you must go and see the exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs tracing the history of contemporary fashion. After publishing a book on the subject last fall, the museum is continuing its exploration of sartorial history with a two-part retrospective. The first show covers the 1970s and '80s, the second the '90s and 2000s. Together they bring the cycles of fashion into focus—you could easily take this 1978 Yves Saint Laurent suit and walk right out on the streets today and feel au courant. If your holiday in France has you spectating at a polo match, let us suggest two fieldside fashions perfect for the sport of kings. One mimics the garb of the players, with their tight white jeans; the other is a more demure sundress and hat. In either case you will want wedges or flats to complete your look—and to stomp the divots on the field at halftime. The Polo Club de Chantilly is located on an exceptional site, bordering the Forêt de Chantilly, just 50 kilometers north of Paris. For information and a game schedule, check their website. For a listing of all the clubs in France, from Brittany to St.-Tropez, visit Polo Contacts Worldwide. We guarantee an afternoon of exciting spectacle!

Lately we’ve been hearing about so many friends traveling to Paris to celebrate special birthdays and anniversaries that we say, "Oui, oui, oui." Summer, when the Parisians are traveling, is a perfect time to enjoy and explore the City of Light, especially when you are dressed for love and romance. We adore the sexy sparkle of this ensemble, and the playfulness of the rhinestone tattoos completes the seductive mood. Where to go? Try Les Ambassadeurs, at the Hôtel de Crillon, for an incomparable gastronomic and aesthetic experience. And make sure to book through the Girls’ Guide to Paris.Robert Rodriguez strapless pleated silk dress

In honor of the Tour de France, we’ve put together a great biking ensemble to keep you on track. The scenic cycling race began on July 3, in Rotterdam, and ends on Sunday, July 25, in Paris, on the Champs Elysées. Why not support cycling and help beat cancer by donning a Livestrong hat or water bottle? You can even send an inspirational message to Lance Armstrong himself, which will be printed through the Livestrong Chalkbot.

These bags and the Cabas line can be customized. For more ideas, visit Longchamp. And don't forget the W2WW packing list.

Traveling in style can be quite the challenge, especially when heading to the fashion hot spot of the world: Paris! We went straight to Tory Burch and found everything for a weekend in Paris, from sitting on the plane to sightseeing to going out on the town. Talk about prêt-à-porter?! When packing, it is important to choose a color scheme; in this case we went with noir et blanc as well as neutrals, which means you can mix and match, and create more outfits with less gear. Each item we packed has a hint of stretch, so you can wear it right out of your suitcase. Top off your looks with Tory’s oh-so-cool accessories, and bon voyage!

Summer is here, and what better way to tour the French countryside than on horseback? The Camargue is an island located in southwestern France, between the Mediterranean Sea and the two arms of the Rhône River. The region has its own breed of horses, the famous white Camarguais, ridden by the gardians, making it an idyllic place to tour land via pony. We figured we'd channel the classic Western look and put together a chic yet appropriate ensemble that can take you from horseback to bistro.

W2WW is feeling the World Cup fever, especially when you can rock this sporty look from Ralph Lauren in honor of the event. We know that everyone in France will be cheering, “Allez les Bleus!” this coming Thursday, June 17, in the match against Mexico. We will also be checking out Thierry Henry sans shirt.
If you can’t make the trek to Johannesburg to see the game in person, why not check out the matches at some of our favorite restaurants in NYC? We found this great World Cup go-to guide at Zagat.
For a full listing of matches, visit FIFA.

Cheer your team on, slurp the suds and witness the soccer man candy. Here’s a list of the Girls’ Guide’s favorite pubs and bars in Paris for World Cup viewing. The big matches include France vs. Uruguay, Friday, June 11, at 8:30 p.m.; England vs. the United States, Saturday, June 12, at 8:30 p.m.; and France vs. Mexico, Thursday, June 17, at 8:30 p.m. Get to the pub early, Ladies, to secure a space!
The Auld Alliance is a Scottish pub in the Marais that has a nice selection of Scottish beers on tap and screens all matches. View the schedule here.
The Moose Bar is a friendly Canadian establishment right around the corner from my old place in the 6th Arrondissement. All games are in 3-D.
Head to O’Sullivans Irish Pub, at 10, rue des Lombards, in the 4th, if you prefer the Irish.
FrogPubs is a chain of English pubs with locations throughout Paris. Surely you can find one nearby that serves its own microbrew, but don’t cheer against the English team here.
Bonus: Read Adam’s choices at Invisible Paris, which include watching France beat Uruguay at Favela Chic. Brilliant idea, but that’s tonight, so get hopping. See his complete list here.

Venus Williams seems to be sporting quite the outfits this year at the French Open tennis championship at the Roland Garros stadium in Paris. One of our faves is this rather Moulin Rouge–looking lace number. Venus explained that the outfit is about illusion: "I just sketched it out. The whole idea is just about the illusion that I’m wearing a deep V-neck. Then the idea was to wear shorts that were like the same color as my skin." You can-can do it, Venus! To be honest, when playing tennis we prefer a more traditional look—such as this classic tennis dress and visor from Ralph Lauren. Only in Paris!

One of our favorite French designers, Isabel Marant, has finally come to NYC! She is the epitome of Parisian chic, and now you can capture that je ne sais quoi on US soil. Love this Tizan minidress—it is the perfect summer-in-the-city dress. Especially when paired with Marant's howlite jewelry and beaded belt. Check out her store in SoHo (469 Broome Street) or purchase this very outfit above!

The Cannes Film Festival is currently on, running from May 12 to 23 in the South of France. American film director Tim Burton was named president of the jury this year, which will bring a touch of fantasy and imagination to the event. We found inspiration for our Cannes-worthy look from a vintage Cannes Film Festival poster from 1946, the year it started. We love this white ruffled Marchesa silk-chiffon gown, especially when paired with these pastel crystal and amethyst jewels—matching the azure color of the Med—and a classic gold Belle de Jour YSL clutch. Imagine walking across the boulevard Carnot in these glittery Choos. Don't forget your sunglasses—the paparazzi might snap a pic. Oh la la!

The French Open is coming up in Paris, from May 23 to June 6. The famed Roland Garros venue is billed as the most challenging of all the Grand Slams and is not to be missed. Paris at the end of May is prime springtime, which is why we are loving this tennis-inspired Miu Miu dress! To prepare for all sorts of weather, we recommend everything from a classic Panama hat and sunglasses to a cardigan and umbrella, which you can easily tote around in this Longchamp bag. (Allez les bleus!) Spectate in comfort with these Tory Burch wedges and keep your look classic with some gold jewelry. Sharapova, Roddick, Nadal, Federer, Williams, oh my!
Editor's note: If you're a tennis nut, try Donna Morris’s tour of all things tennis in Paris. You’ll play a round or two, visit Roland Garros and finish off with a delicious lunch.

What2WearWhere.comThe Petit Palais is presenting the first large-scale retrospective showcasing the work of French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, who died in 2008 at the age of 71. Curated in close cooperation with Pierre Bergé, YSL’s longtime partner in life and in business, the exhibition highlights about 300 timeless and astounding creations from YSL. In homage to the late French couturier, we looked back to his iconic designs and rounded up pieces you can buy today to sport such elegance. What to wear this spring? Yves Saint Laurent, but of course.
"The World of Yves Saint Laurent" is on view at the Petit Palais through August 29. Advance tickets are essential: book through Paris.fr or FNAC.

Heading to Paris this spring? Take a peek at our Paris-worthy morning-to-night look. When you're traveling, it helps to pick a palette as you pack, making mixing and matching that much easier. This season we are MAD about minimalist nudes and created an ensemble incorporating the trend. This Malene Birger sweater dress can take you from food shopping on the rue de Buci to checking out the latest fashion at the Bon Marché. Create multiple guises simply by adding an Hermès scarf or cinching your waist with this fab DVF belt. Totes are a must for trotting about Paris, since you never know when you might spot a freshly baked baguette to go with a perfectly ripe Camembert. This woven Anya Hindmarch tote is ideal for groceries and can easily fit in your suitcase. Or create a timeless statement with this forever-chic YSL shopping bag. The climate in Paris during early spring can be brisk, which is why we topped off this outfit with a classic APC trench. Happy shopping!

Thursday, April 15, marked the grand opening of the iconic American designer Ralph Lauren’s first Parisian store, at 173, boulevard St.-Germain. Since Paris is the epicenter of all things fashion, this proves to be quite the coup for the creator of classic looks so symbolic of the US. We chose a timeless yet Paris-worthy look from Ralph Lauren’s Blue Label to celebrate springtime in the City of Light. Channeling the 1951 film An American in Paris, we went with this ultrafeminine pink silk dress and paired it with classic Americana accessories, from pearls to tan leather shoes to a tan belt and bag. You can hear strains of Gershwin's sonata drifting across the Seine. Bienvenue et bonjour to the preppy Parisian!

Claude Monet’s painting Les Coquelicots à Argenteuil visually defines the season of spring, from the blooming poppies to the wind-wisped clouds; one can almost feel the warm breeze pushing against the parasol. We used Monet and this floral-print dress by Tory Burch as inspiration for our springtime look. Since the print speaks for itself, we kept the accessories on the neutral side. Cinch the dress with a belt, like this waist-defining one from Topshop, to elevate your look. We added this BESS leather jacket and Denis Colomb shawl to keep the breezes at bay. Wedges are a great way to get height without the pain of a pump—we love these café crème–colored ones from Pour La Victoire. They'll keep you looking good while you're strolling outside. When you're in Paris, be sure to check out Les Coquelicots à Argenteuil in person at the Musée d’Orsay.

Paris in 40 hours—who needs to sleep! Had an opportunity for a quick trip and seized the moment. Packed in my carry-on and put together this chic day-to-night look. Luckily, I had taken our own advice and bought a fab pair of leather leggings, added a white camisole, a Hermès scarf and this versatile cardigan that dresses up and down. Merci, merci for the Tory flats as we took to the streets with GG2P's Paris Like a Pro guide, trekking from the Tour d’Eiffel to Notre-Dame and checking in with our friend Mona at the Louvre. Nine hours later, it's back to the flat for a quick change for the evening. Stripping off the cami and scarf, I donned a sexy bra for a little décolleté, cinched a big Chloé belt around the cardigan and added Dior stilettos and these great Kara Ross earrings—all set for one brief night in the City of Light.

Actor-singer Charlotte Gainsbourg is the epitome of French chic. Pulling together that effortless look seems to be part of the Parisian gene; they make it look so easy! We love Charlotte’s menswear-inspired mode, which takes her from singing in her studio to walking the red carpet at film premieres. During the day, channel that classic look with a tucked-in button-down shirt and jeans, topped off with minimalist neutral-toned accessories. For the evening, feminize the iconic tux with a sleeveless version, skinny trousers and YSL platform heels. Make your outfit pop with a bright scarf, such as this one from Matthew Williamson, and a studded cuff and clutch. With Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg as parents, it would be hard not to be cool, yet Charlotte takes it to a whole new level.

Who doesn’t love Paris in the springtime? The weather in Paris at the moment can be cool, so we put together an outfit perfect for daytime sightseeing. Essentials include this APC trench, J Brand jeans with a hint of stretch, a bag big enough to fit your copy of The Flâneur (preferably a bag with a zip or flap, like this Chloé, to keep your things safe) and comfy yet chic shoes to handle the cobblestones—loving these Lanvins! If you want to treat yourself to lunch at Le Voltaire, maybe swap out the trainers for J. Crew booties and add a LOQUITA scarf to the mix. This outfit can take you from falling in love strolling through the Place des Vosges to saying “I do” to the splendid St. Sulpice, followed by having a replenishing tea complete with pastel macaroons at Ladurée.
